Be A PAL Event Program
FAAN’s Be a PAL: Protect A Life From Food Allergies™ program teaches children how to help friends who have food allergies.
Be a PAL events are designed specifically for schools or smaller communities and provide the opportunity to raise food allergy awareness and funds for FAAN. Some individuals or communities use this program as a stepping stone for coordinating a larger, national Walk in their community, or a special event in future years.
Here are the basic steps for organizing a Be a PAL event:
- Select a date and then find and secure a location for the event, such as a school or a community track.
- Pass out flyers to let the community know about the event. You can also pass out Be a PAL brochures, which we can send to you once you tell us the anticipated number of attendees.
- Encourage participants to collect donations (FAAN will provide donation envelopes).
- Ask participants to turn donations in to you (the organizer) as they check in on the day of the event. You will return all the collected donations to us at FAAN. Each envelope has space for participants to write down how much is donated and by whom. We will also provide you with a final tally sheet to keep track of all the participant envelopes that come in and how much is included in each.
- Mail all the donations to FAAN in the large envelope and return shipping box with a paid return shipping label that FAAN will provide.
- Distribute PAL bookmarks to each participant to thank them for their involvement.
